XARSC MISSION STATEMENT:

The Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center is organized to create effective relationships among the aging and in the community. Assuming that

older people are capable of continued growth and development, the Center will offer classes in crafts, nutrition, music, dance, exercise, education and creative studies. We believe that older people have a right to make choices and to be part of the decision making process. Therefore, the Center will provide information to its members concerning legislation and health carechoices, which will affect the quality of life of the older person.

We believe that, like all people, older people should have the right to exercise their skills and develop their potential. Therefore, we offer volunteer opportunities for our members.  We believe that, like all people, older people need both access to sources of information

and help for personal and family concerns and that they have the desire to remain living independently for as long as possible. Therefore, the

Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center will provide such services as  Transportation, Meals on Wheels, Support services, Homemaker,

Home Visits, Information and referral, Medicare Counseling and other services.

The Center believes that, like all people, older people have need for relationships and socialization. Therefore, the Center will offer the opportunity

for a congregate meal in a social setting and will offer recreational and educational activities to its members. This mission is based on the premise

that aging is a normal developmental process; that human beings need peers with whom they can interact; that a senior center should seek to

create an atmosphere that acknowledges the value of human life and affirms the dignity and self worth of the older adult.
